SAS EuroBonus American Express Consumer Card Norway
The purpose of this cooperation is to offer a new EuroBonus co-branded payment card.
The SAS EuroBonus American Express Consumer Card-cooperation will introduce two (2) different co-branded private payment cards:
- SAS EuroBonus American Express Premium Card, which all EuroBonus members will be able to apply for
- SAS EuroBonus American Express Platinum Card, which only EBP and other selected EuroBonus members will be eligible to apply for (i.e. by invitation only)
Residents in Norway
This cooperation is ONLY valid for EuroBonus Members living in Norway.
Note: It is not the country of residence registered in the EuroBonus database that determines whether the member is eligible for the card or not, but the address registered in the Norwegian 'Folkbokföringen' the civil register. Example: A member that has a Danish address in the EuroBonus database, but is registered on a Norwegian address in the Swedish civil register, may be eligible for the card.
Type of points
The type of points earned is EuroBonus Extra points.
Accrual
EuroBonus members with a SAS EuroBonus American Express Premium Card or a SAS EuroBonus American Express Platinum Card will earn EuroBonus Extra Points for all spend with the co-branded card.
- Premium card generate 15 Extra Points for every 100 NOK spend
- Platinum card generate 20 Extra Points for every 100 NOK spend
with the following exceptions:
- No accrual for cash withdrawals/ Express Cash from for example ATM's, post offices or banks
- No accrual when purchasing American Express Travelers Cheques (resecheckar) or purchase or exchange of currency
- No accrual for interest on late payments (dröjmålsränta) or fees (e.g. annual fee, reminder fees or service fees)
- No accrual for redebited transactions, e.g. if the cardholder has returned previously purchased merchandise and got a refund
- No accrual for any purchases if the co-branded cardholder is more than 30 days late in payment of the payment card bill
- No accrual for purchase of domestic flights in Norway
In addition to the standard earn rate, the members will from time to time receive campaign offers. Since these offers are targeted, and differ from member to member, all questions regarding such campaigns and offers must be referred to American Express member service (see Member service details below).
Points on Members account
Points will be available on the member´s account after approximately 4 - 8 weeks after the first transaction with the card and fully payment of first invoice.
Service benefits & redemption
A Platinum co-branded cardholder that has a spend of at least
100 000 NOK for Platinum / 130 000 NOK for Premium on the co-branded payment card in a calendar year, will receive a 50% discount on one (1) flight award called Companion Voucher, with the following restrictions, see below. 50% AFB discount can be combined with 50% child discount. Following cases are applicable:
- Can only be booked via phone to Member Service (i.e. online booking is not possible)
- Valid on SAS as first choice for up to 2 passengers (if no SAS flights available on the requierd dates check with STAR)
- Only valid for travel from Scandinavian country to any SAS-destination worldwide
- The discounted flight award needs to be booked by phone (i.e. online booking is not possible)
- Only one flight award discount per year and member
- A member only entitled to one Companion Voucher per 12-month period, and required spend collected in one 12-month period cannot be carried over into the next 12-month period.
- Mixed classes and open jaw are not allowed.
- Outbound travel must be taken before the expiry date of the voucher, which is 12 months.
- The discounted flight award can only be booked via phone to Member Service, i.e. online booking is not possible, on the following phone number: 05400, and press 7. No service fee applies.
50% AFB discount can be combined with 50% child discount,
following cases are applicable;
One Adult + One child will get 62,5% discount on the whole booking.
One child travelling alone will get 62,5% discount on the whole booking.
Two children will get 75% discount on the whole booking.

Retro registration
In case a EuroBonus member was not awarded with points for an eligible purchase, the member has a possibility to make a retroactive claim to American Express (see Member service details below). American Express is responsible for handling claims regarding retroactive registration of points. If SAS should receive a member retroactive claim, the member should be directed to American Express member service. If SAS receives any documentation (e.g. receipts of purchase), it shall be sent to American Express member service.
