Avstå frukost: +300 kr
Incheckning efter 18 och/eller utcheckning före 09: +250 kr vardera

Och guld-alternativet:
Avstå helt från att checka in: 700 kr extra

I had a Strawberry hotel stay in Stockholm last month where the water in the sink and bathtub shut off completely and unexpectedly while I was in the shower. For about 20 minutes the water completely stopped running in the room and came back on a little for 20 seconds and then shut off twice again over the following 10-15 minutes. The telephone line — although maybe I had two telephones in the suite — didn’t work and so I remained dripping wet with shampoo and body wash with no real great options until the water came back on. After coming back from dinner, I told the front desk what happened. They said they knew nothing about it. Not even an apology or thought to do something about the situation. It makes me think that Strawberry actually prefers customers with no status or Blue status and who keep quiet when things go wrong, so maybe they should charge us when there is no water to make the point clear.

I would have said "Ok, I'll leave the hot water in the shower and sink running all day to see if it stops again. Then maybe you can take a look."

Even with my partial shift to non-Strawberry hotels because of the 2024 devaluations in the program, I return to these hotels too often to want to be “that person” or to be charged for the damages if being serious in saying so and doing so.

It led to flooding the room, part of the hallway and maybe more below; and I needed a different room because I didn’t want to be next door to loud fans for drying the floors. I wouldn’t want to be “that person”, as we were discussing that person the next day even when I checked in at a BW hotel within walking distance of the Clarion Sign.]

Off-topic: Många nybyggda studentbostäder i Finland har två golvbrunnar i duschen cirka 1 meter ifrån varandra, just för att undvika översvämningar när fulla studenter somnar i duschen. Är en billig försäkring!

I would say it, but not do it. Sometimes a little sarcasm can make people to realize how stupid they are being, as in the case of the staff you brought the problem up with. I personally prefer sarcasm to anger and tantrums and I find it hard to just be quiet and not note my displeasure/disbelief.

Fortsätter off-topic. Det är inte helt helt ovanligt att folk somnar i duschen med full fart på vattnet och vattenskador till följd. Vi hade ett samtal med en representant för Balder, som äger det nya Quality-hotellet Jönköping, och dom har krav på unidrain-brunnar. Som Balderföreträdaren sa: "Man måste se mycket märkligt ut om man skall lyckas täcka över en sådan":D
