Dear Mr. Senator
As of 30 March 2021 (date of planned entry into Germany) stricter regulations will apply for entry into the Federal Republic of Germany. All passengers from the age of 6 must present a negative Covid-19 test result (PCR, antigen, RT-LAMP or TMA) at the time of departure. The proof of the negative Covid-19 test must not be older than 48 hours at the time of entry and is checked by the airline before departure. Carriage is not possible without negative proof of testing.
Please note: Contrary to what was originally communicated, the obligation to provide proof of testing also applies to transit passengers who are entering Germany for transit purposes only.
Please note that the mandatory quarantine continues to apply for all travelers entering Germany from a risk, high risk and virus variant area. In addition, travelers are required to complete the Digital Entry Application (DEA) or a substitute application prior to departure. There are only a few exceptions to these rules.

Testing capacities at the international airports may be limited. We recommend that you find out well in advance about any additional testing facilities that may be available at your departure airport and ask you to allow sufficient time for your test.
