American Express is opening a 9000 sq ft Centurion Lounge in Heathrow Terminal 5. Construction work is already underway in preparation for a 2028 opening.

Intressant hur de kan hitta nya lösningar för att utöka ytan för exempelvis lounger (eller butiker). Själva terminalen blir ju inte större och jag trodde nog det mesta redan var utnyttjat men uppenbarligen inte

Where is the space coming from?

From what we understand – and this is not official Amex information – Terminal 5 had a number of landside offices which backed on to the airside area.

Essentially, part of the terminal will switch from being landside to airside, with the office space converted into a lounge.

It will come out somewhere near Gates A2-A4 – the wing where you find the Plaza Premium lounge – probably where the soft play area currently sits.
