Air France BlueBiz skrev:Free check-in bag for BlueBiz members
BlueBiz members will be exempt from the new baggage policy on KLM’s European flights requiring other passengers to pay for their checked-in bag. This new rule will apply to tickets sold on and after 22 April 2013 for flights departing on 22 April 2013 or afterwards.
About the new baggage rules
As you may know, KLM offers ‘Choice & Control’ to its passengers as an attractive way to increase personal comfort. In addition to the current variety of choices (a seat in Economy Comfort, extra legroom, a paid upgrade or lounge access), passengers can now take advantage of the paid baggage option. Passengers can decide to travel light with only hand baggage or check in a bag for a fee of €15 (one way reserved in advance or €30 at the airport).
No charge for BlueBiz members!
The great news for companies enrolled in the BlueBiz programme is that there is no charge for the first bag that is checked in! This means you can check in one piece of baggage for free! This is KLM’s way of recognising and rewarding BlueBiz members for their loyalty. If you or your colleagues are travelling to a meeting, convention or trade show, your company can continue to bring its own brochures and other promotional materials free of charge! Please note that the maximum weight limit for the bag you may check in for free is 23 kilos.
Free of charge – but with a few rules!
To enjoy this new BlueBiz benefit, your BlueBiz membership number must be included in your booking. So make sure you or your travel agency enters your BlueBiz number at the time of booking. You can also add your BlueBiz number later on in the [My Trip section] of the KLM website. Be sure to do this before printing out the boarding pass and at least two hours before the flight is scheduled to depart. Otherwise, you or your colleague will have to pay the baggage fee, which is €30 (airport fee). No refund is possible for paid baggage fees if you forget to include your BlueBiz number.
What else do you need to know?
- Each airline has its own baggage policy. Important: The policy of the airline operating the flight applies.
- You can only include your company’s BlueBiz number for flights paid for by your company!
- On European KLM flights for which you have included your BlueBiz number in the booking, you or your colleagues may bring:
- In the cabin – 1 piece of hand baggage and 1 accessory (combined weight of up to 12 kg). Free of charge!
- Check-in baggage – one bag weighing up to 23 kg. Free of charge!
- Just to be clear: Flying Blue members are also exempt from paying the baggage surcharge. If you are both a Flying Blue member and BlueBiz member, the maximum number of bags you can check in for free is 1.
