Det är ju inget giltigt skäl, enligt mig. Vaccinationspasset har ju trots allt utfärdats med en EU-standard. De accepterar ju vanliga pass från ”Ole-Dole-Doff-land”…

Ja, det gjorde han som ett sista försök att sabotera. Biden rev upp beslutet om att släppa på igen. Det är annorlunda, åtminstone med politiska ögon sett.

Det kan du tolka som att de inte har någon lust att acceptera vaccinpass. Om det är pga amerikansk exceptionalism, en bortförklaring för att kunna fortsätta hålla gränsen stängd eller vad det beror på kommer vi nog bara kunna gissa.
Gränsen kan öppna i morgon eftersom uppenbarligen ingen vet men det faktum att två amerikanska ministrar offentligt tar avstånd från egna politiken tyder på att inget är på väg att ändras på ett bra tag. Budskapet från dem är rätt tydligt att det inte är deras beslut att fatta.

PRESIDENT BIDEN: We brought in the head of our — our COVID team because the Chancellor brought that subject up. It’s in the process of (inaudible) how soon we can lift the ban — it’s in process now. And I’ll be able to answer that question to you within the next several days — what is likely to happen. I’m waiting to hear from our folks in our — our COVID team as to when that should be done. And the Chancellor did raise it. (Laughs.)

Den 21/7 upphör ju nuvarande regler för USA så senast då måste det komma någon form av beslut, det är ju också vad han sa utan att nämna datum,
krävs ju också att de är överens med Biden vad gäller regler för resande till USA.

Canada would be in a position to welcome fully vaccinated travellers from all countries by early September.
He noted the ongoing discussions with the United States on reopening plans, and indicated that we could expect
to start allowing fully vaccinated U.S. citizens and permanent residents into Canada as of mid-August for non-essential travel.
The Prime Minister indicated that ministers would share more details on these plans early next week.

Inte mer än vad som redan avhandlats ovan. Bra att Merkel sätter lite press å EU:s vägnar.
Tror att beskedet som kommer inom några dagar blir att USA häver inreseförbudet från 6/9 med en och annan reservation gällande hur smittspridningen utvecklas och kräver full vaccinering och negativt test för inresa.
Hoppas dock att det går fortare, hyser ännu en viss förhoppning om en resa till västkusten i början av augusti.

Lär ju till en början bli krav på både vaccinationsintyg och tester. Kommer nog inte öppna upp för alla direkt, men det är ju rimligt att affärsresenärer kan åka på jobb osv. i höst.
