Khabarovsk Airport Guide
Recognized as the 13th leading airport in Russia, Khabarovsk Airport (or Khabarovsk Novy Airport), handled more than a million passengers in 2011 alone. It serves as a home for commercial airlines such as Aeroflot, Nordstar, S7 Airlines, Iraero, SAT Airlines and Asiana Airlines as well as for a cargo airline Kallita Air. With the number of aircrafts serviced by this airport, it is not surprising that it is open 24 hours daily for operations. Passengers who want to take a nap can sleep on the bench but if you do not mind spending a few rubles (around 650 rubles), you can visit the transit area on the 1st and 2nd floor where you will find sleeping rooms. This facility is open 24 hours and although it is not free, it would still be a good option if you want to take a good rest and if you have several hours of waiting time.
Upon arrival at the terminal of Khabarovsk airport, all passengers will undergo inspection through metal detectors and special introscopes to ensure everyone’s safety in the terminal. It should be noted that international passengers are required to be at the airport 2-3 hours before their scheduled flight. Check-in counters are located at the center of the terminal. Flyers with special needs should inform the airlines 3 days before the departure date.
Any medical emergencies can be reported to the health center located on the 1st floor of the left wing of the Khabarovsk airport. There are medical workers ready to assist any passengers who need medical care. Transit Hall situated on the 2nd floor is for transfer passengers. There is free Wi-Fi in the area, with newsstand, a café and gaming entertainment for kids. The chairs are quite comfortable and there is a plasma screen TV installed in the room. Should you need to linger for a while, you can visit the shopping establishments for souvenir, accessories and clothing. ATMs and telephone booths are also available inside the airport. For VIP passengers, there is a business lounge located on the right wing of the airport. Some of the conveniences offered are almost the same with the Transit Hall but with way higher quality, greatest comfort and excellent services.
