Built as a 15th century palace, the Gritti, became a hotel in 1895. For over a century the Gritti Palace has been the premier address in Venice. Ensure that you ask for a canal facing room and you will not be disappointed.

Located next to the Grand Canal, this hotel is a contemporary classic. There has been a hotel on this site for over 150 years and the St Regis is the latest incarnation – offering guests style in a modern setting. There are 169 rooms & suites available – many with private terraces overlooking the water and the superb Basilica of Santa Maria della Salute.

The Palazzo Venart owns a garden, at the end of which is a private dock that enjoys direct access to the Grand Canal. What is there not to like about the Venart? Located in the city’s San Croce district of Venice, the Venart is an entertaining 30 minutes to St. Mark’s Square by foot.
Baglioni Hotel Luna – 8/10
Located just a short walk from St. Mark’s Square, the Baglioni Hotel Luna is the most central of the city’s luxury properties.
