London celebrates the opening of The Dilly

Central London is set to welcome a new name on an old face when The Dilly opens its doors to guests on April 1st. The Dilly is a fresh and independent 5-star luxury hotel situated in the shell that was once Le Méridien Piccadilly.

The property – which dates to 1908 – has undergone a major renovation with bedrooms, the lobby and the building exterior all being redesigned. The Dilly features 255 rooms and 28 suites – although only 39 will be completed for opening. The mezzanine level features an exclusive check-in area from where guests take a private lift to their room or suite.

The Dilly occupies an envious space on one of London’s most famous thoroughfares. Guests of the hotel enjoy views of Piccadilly to the front, Regent Street to the rear and the city’s rooftops from the upper floors. Just steps away from the hotel entrance is the Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain – more popularly called “Eros”, Waterstone’s – Europe’s grandest bookshop, the legendary Fortnum & Mason, and Jermyn Street – complete with the renowned purveyor of cheese, Paxton & Whitfield, and Davidoff – home of cigars.

The Dilly’s General Manager, James Olivier comments:

“When you explore everything that makes a location the place to be for business, pleasure or simply to recharge, this is it – London’s epicentre, Piccadilly Circus and a meeting point known throughout the world.  Our hotel’s new name is memorable, playful, and ultimately inspired by our address in the centre of London on Piccadilly.  We can truly say ‘We Are London.”
