Palazzo Ripetta

The recently renovated and now “five star” hotel - Palazzo Ripetta is located on Via Ripetta, one of the city’s most ancient streets, a short distance from the Piazza del Popolo, Spanish Steps and Via del Corso. Family owned and operated, the property has reopened after undergoing an extensive restoration, offering 78 luxurious rooms and suites in four rich jewel-toned palettes.

The building was constructed in the 17th century as a Conservatory led by nuns, providing shelter and instruction for poor and orphaned women for nearly three centuries. Today, Palazzo Ripetta combines the historic charm of Rome with modern amenities and design. As a cosy hideaway for couples, to family-friendly rooms and spacious duplex suites, each is conceived by designer Fausta Gaetani and studio MOI Architetti to harmonise with the architecture of leading 20th century architect Luigi Moretti. Relaxed living spaces offer views out across the archetypal streets of Rome. The private two-floor apartment offers up to five guests two spacious living areas, kitchen, dining room and two bathrooms. The hotel’s art collection includes ancient Roman pieces alongside contemporary sculptures and paintings.

Palazzo Ripetta’s restaurant, San Baylon, has a menu created by young and exciting chef Marco Ciccotelli in an open kitchen. The cuisine is anchored to ancient Italian recipes and traditions, executed with innovation and flair. Acclaimed pastry chef Giuseppe Solfrizzi brings delights from his famous Roman bakery, Le Levain. The Piazzetta Ripetta courtyard is an ideal spot for all-day dining, Sunday brunch and cocktails. Indoors, the colourful Baylon cocktail bar has exciting mixology created by a collaboration with the acclaimed speakeasy, the Jerry Thomas project.

Ripetta offers a unique setting for weddings, meetings and events with four meeting spaces including the Salone Bernini, a former 18th century oratory. Committed to promoting sustainability, Palazzo Ripetta, has been awarded the Green Key certificate for fulfilling a list of environmental requirements.
