Heathrow T5 security staff strike to seriously disrupt BA flights for 10 days

1,400 security staff at Heathrow Terminal 5, the home of British Airways, have announced plans for a 10 day srike over Easter which will lead to cancellations.

The action will begin on Friday 31st March and end on Sunday 9th April. This coincides with the peak Easter holiday period, with the intention of causing maximum disruption to holidaymakers.



This is not airport-wide. Only security guards at Heathrow Terminal 5 will go on strike, which means this will largely affect British Airways passengers.

Strejken i Spanien fortsätter, markpersonalen (Swissport) fortsätter, 27, 28, 30, April 3, 4, 6, 10, 11 & 13.

17 flygplatser kommer att påverkas över hela Spanien, inklusive Barcelona, Madrid, Teneriffa, Lanzarote, Malaga och Valencia.

The USCA and CCOO unions have decided to continue the strike by air traffic controllers at privatised airports in March. The reason is the lack of progress in negotiations with the business association APCTA, which includes the private providers of the liberalized air traffic control market Saerco and Skyway.



The strikes will take place between 4.00 pm and 7.00 pm local time on Tuesdays March 7, 14, 21 and 28. Specifically, all flights with arrivals or departures within the specified time period and with origin or destination at the following privatised airports are considered affected.

Jag flög till Alicante under en av de dagarna, förseningen var ca 30min och det var avgångstiden från Sverige som var framskjuten inget annat.

(Det betyder ju inte att det alltid fungerar så smärtfritt under andra strejkdatum)
 
Om det är security som strejkar på LHR så antar jag att det är mestadels departure som påverkas? Eller är det risk för kö för ankommande också?

Connecting flights drabbas också, speciellt på T5. Dock har jag läst att man kommer flytta säkerhetspersonal från de andra terminalerna för att hjälpa till på T5 dvs de andra terminalerna kommer också att drabbas departure + connecting flights.
 
Det fick bli MAN och trots att vi ankom från CPH samtidigt som flera andra kärror var det ingen kö till passkontrollen igår!
