Question about buying level points

Hi, I was wondering if one can buy level points to reach Gold and then buy level points to reach Diamond in the same qualification period. The rules say buying up to 15k to reach Gold is allowed and up to 30k to reach Diamond, but it doesn't mention if both can be done in the same qualification period.

Example: I now have 30k points and buy 15k to become gold. I then have 45k. I earn a few more point throughout the year and finish the year with 60k points. I then buy 30k points to become Diamond.

Well, yes and no. Not in the way you expect.

It is possible to buy points both to reach gold and to reach diamond in the same year. However, in order to be eligible to buy points to diamond, you must have earned 60k points, i.e. in addition to any bought points. So yes, you can buy gold with 15k points when you have reached 30k (provided you are at least 6 months into your qualification period), but you must then earn another 30k points in order to qualify for buying diamond (at which point you only need to buy 15k points to reach diamond, since you have 30+15+30=75k).

In other words, the end result is the same as if you just earn your 60k points first, and then buy 30k points (however if you started from nothing, you will have reached gold slightly earlier during the year by making two separate purchases).

If someone has personal experience of this specific situation, please correct me if I'm wrong here. The written rules do not always match reality...

Can't find the thread, but I think it was the same question in Swedish, no one had tried it anyway. I also referred to the rules, but many suspected the implementation was an easy way out without "memory" so I'm a believer in that too now. If so, after 6 months and 30k+ you can buy what's missing up to 45k to qualify for gold. When you reach 60k+ you can buy what's missing to 90k. But we don't know for sure.
