Yes, I agree with you. I sat in the aisle seat, middle block. The chap in the middle seat of my block looked absolutely stuck.
 
Thanks for a great trip report! Imagine why premium Airlines decide to make the dreamliner the crapliner in economy. If the dreamliner is that cramped then I guess it calls for novel solutions like 2+3+3 or 3+2+3. If slim people can't expect to fit in the chairs what hope is there for normal weight people, or are we in the creation of a slim midget people travelling to fit in crapliner?
 
Mmm I really don't like the economy class on the QR Dreamliners, way too cramped, as you rightly say. I think the last time I flew long haul economy in such conditions was when I wowed never to fly long haul in Y again. And I have done pretty well so far ;)

Yeah, I got to wait till the kids are grown. Then hopefully my wife and I will have sufficient resources to enjoy travelling in premium classes.
