Byta terminal på Heathrow utan att visa boardingkort

Återupplivar tråden för att kolla status på terminalbyte vid LHR. Jag kommer att mellanlanda på Heathrow med såväl ankomst som avfärd på T5. Båda flygen är BA och jag har OW Sapphire.

Då jag har 2h+ layover undrar jag om man kan gå direkt mot connecting flights-skylten och ta bussarna mot T3, eller om det blir stopp vid security. Blir det security både till och från T3 eller endast första benet?

Hade ju varit kul att få testa på loungerna i T3, men kanske borde stanna i BA loungen och slippa stress och eventuellt strul?

Det blir garanterat stopp i T3 security. Och ja, du måste göra security åt båda håll.

Om du lyckas snacka dig igenom stoppet i T3 security eller ej låter jag vara osagt. Men hade personligen inte gjort den manövern för 2h.

Om du har fyra timmar eller mer mellan flygen kan du komma in med ett boardingkort från T5, och är de tveksamma så är det bara att stå på sig. Jag har alltid kommit igenom även när den framför mig fick vända om. Sedan vet jag att tagit lite längre tid för @palmen med sällskap att komma igenom.

It's not fast, but it's been easy for me to get into T3 after a flight into T5 since neither the transfer bus attendants nor transit security require a boarding pass to get to the T3 transfer desks right after T3 transit security. I then ignore the T3 transfer desks and walk past them directly into the T3 departures shopping mall when heading to the Amex Centurion lounge between my BA-BA T5-T5 flights. And then at the Amex lounge I show my BA boarding pass and Amex cards and get into the lounge while at least sometimes being told "you are flying from the other terminal” or something like that.

It is the getting back to T5 that can feel more awkward for some in this situation, as you then have to go in the opposite direction of the T3 transfer security screening check to get back to the transfer buses to return to T5. If you don't know what you are doing you ask the security screeners which way to get to T5, and they can direct you. But you have to pay attention to know how to get back to the T3 transit security. Most transit passengers seem to have no good idea about how to get back there and the airport shop workers are often just as clueless.

I would not do this terminal hopping for a lounge unless having closer to 4 hours or more to do this. 2-3 hours scheduled transit time? Just not worth it for a T5-T5 connection.
