Ryssarna kanske beslutar sig för att behålla dem utan att betala, de kan ju flyga inrikes och lappa ihop dem som
Kubanerna gjort med amerikanska 50-tals bilar i 70 år.
European Sanctions Could Strand Leased Planes in Russia - The New York Times
At stake is the fate of hundreds of planes worth an estimated $12 billion, according to Ishka,
a consulting firm that specializes in the aviation industry.
Those based in Ireland are particularly exposed, with $4 billion to $5 billion worth of
aircraft in Russia, it said.
The sanctions give companies leasing the planes until March 28 to terminate existing contracts,
the Irish government confirmed on Monday.
Aeroflot, Ural Airlines, S7 Group and Utair. As of February 2022, these carriers used nearly
500 Airbus, Boeing and Embraer aircraft.
The fleet of foreign liners in total is estimated at $12 billion.
Aeroflot tänker inte lämna tillbaka planen
Foreign aircraft will remain in Russia
03/03/2022
It was decided to leave foreign-made aircraft leased from European companies in Russia, a source in Aeroflot told FrequentFlyers.ru. This can be framed as a “requisition” of property, that is, a forced purchase of it in favor of the state, but in fact it will turn into nationalization due to the blocking of Russia’s gold and foreign exchange resources abroad, because it will be impossible to pay for the planes due to sanctions imposed by the European Union.
