Resa till Thailand inom kort!

Speciellt om det är 1 dag, då orkar de ofta knappt bry sig.
Dessutom går europaflighterna ofta precis efter midnatt, vilket innebär att du i så fall checkar ut immigration en dag innan avresedatum.

Fast till just Thailand är det OK att rekommendera eftersom de har väldigt tydliga regler kring detta, och att det just bara blir böter på 500 per dag och inga vidare efterräkningar så länge man håller sig under 90 dagar overstay.

The fine depends on the number of days you have overstayed. The minimum charge is 500 Baht per day. This goes to a maximum of 20,000 Baht for overstays of 40 days or longer.

The good news is that if you pay the fine and then leave the country then you won’t have any problem returning to Thailand at a future date. There won’t be any black mark next to your name.

Nej, det där är gamla reglerna.
Länken i Dr Miles inlägg ovan visar vad som gäller nu sedan åtstramningen.
Men oavsett så är det ju god marginal till 90 dagarsgränsen.

Kan ju bli tråkigt att bli stoppad av polis och bli förd till Immigration Detention Centre för utfrågning.

Mig veterligen kan du hamna i immigration detention center, ett ställe du med stor sannolikhet vill undvika.

Du kom tydigen till flygplatsen efter 10 dagars overstay? Du betalade då dina böter och lämnade landet.
Det kan dock bli betydligt större problem om du blir "tagen" ute på stan

Jag ser det nu. Men det är ju direkt motsägelsefullt (och felaktigt) iom att det även står så här:

Overstaying your visa is illegal. If you overstay for a short period you will have to pay a fine. However, if you overstay for more than 90 days then it is a serious offence and the result will be you are deported from Thailand and banned from visiting again. The length of the ban depends on how long you have overstayed your visa.

If you are caught overstaying by an Immigration officer, then it can result in being taken to jail if you are not able to pay the fine or have a long overstay.

Vad är det som är felaktigt? Betalar man sin bath-500:ing per dag så är det OK och ingen vidare påföljd. Betalar man ej så blir det fängelse.
