About 70 kilometress south of Manila sits Taal volcano, a complex stratovolcano that also happens to be the second most active in Philippines, with a history of several violent eruptions in the past. Downtown Manila can be reached in about 20 minutes by taxi from NAIA Airport; however traffic conditions sometimes extend the journey up to an hour. Taxis, jeepneys, ride-hailing apps, buses, the Light Rail Transit (LRT), and the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) are the transportation options in Manila, but remember to give yourself a window for traffic congestions when you are heading out for your destination of the day.
