World's first Aerotel transit hotel opens

Hong Kong-based Plaza Premium Group - a leader in airport services, notably lounges - announced the official opening of the airport hotel yesterday in Singapore. The group also plans to open transit hotels in London and Abu Dhabi this year.

Aerotel Singapore - Library Lounge Located on Level 3 in Terminal 1 of the airport (near Boarding Gate D41), the 70-room Aerotel Singapore is the group’s inaugural flagship transit hotel and the world’s only transit hotel equipped with an outdoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi and pool-side bar in the airport restricted area. The Aerotel brand was unveiled in October 2015 and aims to provide “stylish hideaways in the heart of airports.” “Aerotel Singapore is our first airport transit hotel which meets the demand of transit passengers by promising a comfy airport accommodation, swimming and gym facilities, and convenient booking hours, bringing them a brand new home-away-from-home experience in Changi,” said Mr. Song Hoi-see, Founder and CEO of Plaza Premium Group.

Out door swimming pool “By offering a first class Aerotel service but at economy prices, we are confident that this wonderful facility for transit travellers will also help improve the load factor and yield of airline flights using Changi Airport as their transit hub.” In addition to a contemporary design - with antique brick walls, fine timber and fabric in grey and aqua - Aerotel Singapore provides warm lighting, soft acoustics and a “stylish and homey” experience for transit travellers, according to Plaza Premium. Some rooms offer a view of the airport runway - where a number of A380s are parked a stone’s throw away. Free WiFi and a gym are also available. Open around-the-clock, Aerotel Singapore offers flexible booking hours, from SGD55 to SGD135 (£27 - £67) for a minimum of 6 hours.
