Visit a French "Palace" this winter

Dating from 1909, the striking hotel offers a blend of historical tradition with contemporary luxury - interior designer Francois Champsaur and head architect of historic monuments Fancois Chatillon oversaw a two-year renovation, completed in 2015, which turned this historical building into a 5-star hotel of absolute elegance and glamour.

In recognition of its huge strides in providing 5-star luxury, the stately resort hotel has received the official label of “Palace” from Minister of State for Foreign Trade, the Promotion of Tourism and French nationals abroad, Matthias Fekl.

The highest distinction in the 5-star hotel category, the acknowledgement sees the Hôtel Royal Evian join 22 other ‘palaces’ in France. Laurent Roussin, the hotel's General Manager, said the label of “Palace” is “a symbol of a true 5-star hotel.” He goes on to state that the hotel owes this prestigious distinction to its “subtle blend of relaxed sophistication and total luxury”.

A member of the prestigious Leading Hotels of the World, the Hôtel Royal Evian is surrounded by 47-acres of private wooded ground in the heart of the Evian Resort in Evian-les-Bains. Its extensive facilities include three restaurants, a cocktail bar, the renowned La Prairie spa (with indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools, a hydro-circuit, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, gym and more), a children's club, a Sport & Culture department offering bespoke activities, a high-end clothing boutique, a hairdressing salon, 4 tennis courts (one covered) and a ski shop.

If that wasn’t enough, the Evian Resort features a golf training centre, a golf course where the annual Evian Championship takes place, the Evian Thermal Spa, a Casino and a music auditorium which hosts the Evian Musical Encounters each summer.

Its 150 lavish rooms and suites rooms feature marble bathrooms, free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and minibars. Most have patios with garden or lake views. Family rooms and suites add living rooms with sofabeds. Room service is available.
