Singapore Airlines increases US operations

Singapore Airlines has enhanced its transpacific network by introducing additional non-stop flights between Singapore and key US gateways, including San Francisco and Los Angeles. The flagship Airbus A350-900 is now a mainstay on these premium routes, offering daily direct services and further cementing SIA's reputation for long-haul excellence.

Currently, Singapore Airlines operates multiple daily flights to San Francisco, with both non-stop and one-stop options. The direct Singapore–San Francisco service, operated by the state-of-the-art A350-900, caters to the growing demand for seamless travel between Southeast Asia and the US West Coast. The carrier has also restructured its US network: what was once the Singapore–Seoul–San Francisco flight now operates as a Singapore–Seoul–Los Angeles route, effectively providing a second daily service to Los Angeles. This complements the established Singapore–Tokyo Narita–Los Angeles connection, ensuring travelers have flexible schedules and more choices than ever before.

The non-stop journey between Singapore and San Francisco covers approximately 13,600 km, with flight durations ranging from 14.5 to nearly 18 hours, depending on seasonal jet streams and direction. This route remains among the world’s longest, showcasing Singapore Airlines’ commitment to ultra-long-haul comfort. Since the introduction of the enhanced A350-900ULR (Ultra Long Range), SIA has continued to lead with direct services from Singapore to both Los Angeles and New York, providing unparalleled convenience for transpacific travelers.

"Our discerning guests consistently request more direct routes to the United States, and we are delighted to deliver an expanded schedule to both San Francisco and Los Angeles," remarked Ms. Lee Wen Fen, Senior Vice President of Marketing Planning. "With these strategic additions, Singapore Airlines now offers travelers the flexibility of two daily departures to each of these sought-after West Coast destinations."

The Airbus A350-900, optimized for ultra-long-haul performance, reliably operates the non-stop Singapore–San Francisco sector year-round. Depending on prevailing wind patterns, minor adjustments to passenger loads may occur to ensure optimal range and comfort. The aircraft is meticulously configured with 253 seats across three premium cabins: Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy, delivering a bespoke inflight experience for every traveler.

Flights from Singapore depart in the morning, touching down in San Francisco at the start of the business day, while return legs also leave San Francisco in the morning, allowing for a smooth evening arrival in Singapore. This thoughtfully curated schedule supports both business and leisure itineraries, reflecting SIA’s dedication to premium service and operational excellence.
