Qatar Airways has revealed that it will update its onboard internet to high-speed “Super wifi” across its entire fleet of B777 and A350 aircraft.
Powered by Inmarsat's GX Aviation in-flight broadband system, Qatar Airways will install the new hardware onboard
around 50 B777 aircraft and just under 25 A350s.
If you fly on an aircraft with the new “super WiFi”, you will get one-hour free access with the option to pay for access during the entire flight for about
US$10 (approx’ £7.40).
Commenting on the innovation, Qatar Airways Group CEO Akbar Al Baker, said: “In another first for the MENA region, Qatar Airways passengers can now enjoy high-speed broadband connectivity, providing rich content without restriction, whether using the internet for work or relaxation during their journey.
Business travellers in particular will be able to maximise their ‘office in the sky’ with seamless continuity.”
