After some delays, Qatar Airways have finally opened their new business lounge at Doha's new airport, Hamad International. The lounge, named Al Mourjan, is over 10,000 square meters, spread over two floors and can accommodate 1000 visitors. The surface area is as large as ten Olympic swimming pools. Facilities include; several dining options, ranging from simple finger food to a proper restaurant, private rest rooms, family areas and a children's play room with PlayStation and F1 simulator. In addition, there are prayer rooms, smoking rooms, toilets and shower rooms. For visitors who want to work, there is a business center with conference room, computers, scanners and printers. Around the lounge there is also what Qatar Airways calls, "executive seating”, with information screens, reading lamps and power sockets. In the middle of the lounge there is a large swimming pool of 15x7 meters, right below the big spiral staircase, illuminated by light effects in the water and surrounded by four large chandeliers. The pool and its various effects help create a peaceful and harmonic atmosphere for visitors. The Al Mourjan Lounge is open to passengers travelling with Qatar Airways, or any other airline in the OneWorld alliance, in business class or first class. Currently, the lounge is also for first class passengers, but only until the Al Safwa First Class Lounge opens later this year. Passengers travelling in economy class with One World Sapphire or an Emerald card, however, refer to another lounge. In total there will be 16 lounges at the airport, including arrival lounges, transit lounges, third party lounges and a lounge for unaccompanied minors.
