Qantas will open a flagship lounge at Heathrow’s Terminal 3.

Australia’s flag carrier today confirmed that construction will start on its latest flagship lounge in September this year, with an opening planned for early 2017. Spread over two levels in Terminal 3, the premium lounge will have capacity for approximately 230 guests - who will be able to enjoy views over the Heathrow airfield through large windows.

New premium lounge at Heathrow T3 - set to open in 2017 Qantas revealed the design will combine the signature features of Qantas’ facilities in other ports with local touches to make the design and experience distinctively London. Features of the new lounge will include a signature menu and dining experience from Australian restaurant group Rockpool; a full-service bar with cocktails; bathroom facilities including showers; business facilities; and a children’s zone.

We want the first dedicated Qantas lounge at Heathrow to be something special. “Our lounges in Australia and overseas are often named among the world’s best. Customers love them and we make regular improvements based on what they tell us they’d like to see next. We’re very proud of the new lounges we’ve launched over the past three years in Singapore, Hong Kong, Los Angeles and Perth – with Brisbane to follow this year – and we’re excited to be bringing this successful formula to our customers in London.” Passengers eligible to use the lounge will include Qantas Club members; Qantas Business and First Class passengers; Gold members or higher of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program; and passengers travelling in tiered cabins on partner airlines with a QF code. Until the new lounge opens, eligible passengers will continue to have access to the British Airways and American Airlines lounges at Heathrow.
