On August 1st, the doors opened to another new lounge in the Star Alliance terminal, terminal 2, at London Heathrow, where SAS will also move September. The Plaza Premium Lounge is unlike other lounges in that it is available to all passengers, with an option to pay for entry at the reception.
Plaza Premium Lounges are a company based in Hong Kong and currently operate lounges at 28 airports, mostly in Asia and the Middle East, but also in Canada's four largest airports. The new lounge in “The Queen's Terminal”, at London Heathrow, is Plaza Premiums first foothold in Europe. The interior is modern and glitzy, with interactivity and creativity as the guiding principles in the design. The lounge is designed by Kenney Chan, and several UK suppliers have helped give the lounge some traditional British influences. There is a tapas bar in the lounge, as well as a selection of food and drink along with freshly baked bread. The lounge also has five shower rooms, five relaxation rooms, and a Wellness Spa, with a number of different treatments. If you want to work, WIFI is available. There is also a selection of international newspapers and magazines. Admission is £38. At present, it is not possible to gain access with, for example, Priority Pass or Diners Club, this may however change in the future. Plaza Premium’s communications department tells us that free entry is offered with Airport Angels.
