Norwegian to launch two new routes between London and the US

Norwegian Air has unveiled two brand new direct transatlantic routes from London Gatwick, enhancing its footprint between the United Kingdom and the United States.

Launching in September, Norwegian will connect London Gatwick directly to both Denver International and Seattle-Tacoma International airports, increasing the airline’s total number of nonstop US-London routes to nine.

Transatlantic travel remains highly competitive, with low-cost carriers like Norwegian continuing to drive fares down and prompting legacy airlines to introduce their own budget-friendly options.

Major carriers such as Air France and the IAG group—parent company of British Airways and Iberia—have responded by rolling out their own affordable transatlantic services. Lufthansa has also grown its presence through Eurowings, further intensifying the competition.

Norwegian’s expansion in the US market follows the regulatory green light for its Irish subsidiary, Norwegian Air International, to operate transatlantic flights—a milestone achieved after years of negotiations and finalized approval from US authorities.

To maintain competitive pricing, Norwegian strategically selects secondary airports with lower operational fees, ensuring cost savings are passed on to passengers through attractive fares.
