On 1st October, German airline Lufthansa moved into the new Star Alliance terminal, terminal 2, at London Heathrow Airport. At the same time, they opened their new lounge in the terminal, the largest outside Germany, which is also the main SAS lounge in terminal 2. The new Lufthansa lounge has a surface area of 1,600 square meters and seating for 350 guests, it therefore has the largest surface area of any Lufthansa lounge outside of Germany. The lounge is divided into two parts - Lufthansa Business Lounge and Lufthansa Senator Lounge. The Business Lounge is available to passengers travelling in business class or those who have Frequent Traveller status in Miles & More. The Senator lounge is available for passengers who have gold cards in the Star Alliance, which includes Senator and Hon Circle members of Miles & More. SAS also use the lounge, since 1st October, as their main lounge. The Business Lounge is for passengers travelling in SAS Plus, and the Senator lounge is for passengers who have a Star Alliance Gold Card or members of EuroBonus on Gold or Diamond Level. The lounges are located in the main building of terminal 2, T2A. After check-in and security control, go to the right and you find the entrance to the lounges beside the Aer Lingus lounge. If you are in transit, go towards T2A and take the escalator up one floor to the balcony above the main waiting hall, where the lounge is located. Passengers with SAS and Lufthansa are also able to visit other lounges in terminal 2, for example, Air Canada’s Maple Leaf Lounge and United's Club Lounge. All are located in the satellite building, T2B. In the autumn, a Singapore Airlines Silver Kris Lounge will also open, also in T2B.
