The much-anticipated reopening of Rome’s legendary Hotel Eden is just around the corner following an extensive 18-month restoration.

On April 1, 2017, Dorchester Collection has announced that its iconic Rome property will once again open its doors, revealing the work done by world-renowned architect and interior designers Bruno Moinard and Claire Betaille of 4BI & Associés, together with Patrick Jouin and Sanjit Manku from Jouin Manku, who were commissioned to oversee the renovation. The unveiling will reveal 98 new spacious guestrooms and suites, a dynamic food and drink concept, and the hotel’s first urban spa and blow-dry bar.

Less rooms

A timeless luxury hotel built in the late 1800s, the Hotel Eden - which is situated in the heart of the old city of Rome, a short stroll from the legendary Spanish Steps and picturesque Villa Borghese - previously offered 121 rooms, meaning more suites and more space for guests. The rooms are full of natural light, accentuated by high ceilings and tall windows, and have been furnished with fine fabrics and elegant artwork.

Guest room at 5-star Hotel Eden in Rome Sleek new marble bathrooms take inspiration from Roman baths; with mosaics, rain showers, and Bottega Veneta toiletries. Hotel Eden’s top suite, the Bellavista Penthouse Suite, offers unrivalled views of Rome with floor-to-ceiling windows which can be fully opened.

Revamped restaurants

The hotel’s two restaurants have been revamped, and a focus on quality produce that is healthy has been emphasised. Award-winning executive chef Fabio Ciervo heads top-floor fine-dining restaurant, La Terrazza, where views over the city’s rooftops complement an innovative, seasonal Mediterranean menu. The restaurant's design draws on traditional Italian craftsmanship as inspiration, whilst a fresco glass wall takes centre stage.

La Terrazza There is also all-day dining restaurant, Il Giardino Ristorante & Bar, for a more formal experience, again with stunning views. It offers light, healthy choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner, alongside a selection of pasta, pizza and Cicchetti. Cocktails and signature wines are available from the bar. Classic and innovative cocktails are also served at a ‘secret bar’ in the atmospheric and intimate La Libreria.

New spa

A new addition to the hotel, the Eden Spa offers a range of holistic wellness experiences and therapies from Sonya Dakar and Officina Profumo – Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella,  one of the oldest pharmacies in the world. It incorporates three suites and a unique blow-dry bar, as well as a manicure and pedicure suite.

Presidential Suit livingroom A popular choice for meetings, conferences and events, Hotel Eden now has three fully refurbished and equipped meetings rooms. “We are delighted to reopen Hotel Eden and lead it into its next chapter,” said Luca Virgilio, general manager of the hotel. “We look forward to welcoming guests and offering them the most memorable experience in a timeless destination.”
