Hyatt Hotels has today announced the opening of its second Grand Hyatt hotel in Brazil - the Grand Hyatt Rio de Janeiro.
The luxury urban resort boasts a prime beachfront location in the exclusive Barra da Tijuca neighbourhood, with access to world-class shopping, dining, cultural and outdoor activities all within close proximity. Hyatt states the hotel is “meticulously designed to exemplify the Grand Hyatt brand’s signature level of grandeur with an abundance of options for creating spectacular experiences.”
The hotel’s 436 guestrooms include 40 suites, two 1,561 square foot Presidential Suites, and one 2,100 square foot Penthouse Suite with a 1,248 square foot terrace with lounge area and plunge pool. A special private elevator provides the Penthouse and Presidential Suites direct access from the garage. All rooms have large balconies and floor-to-ceiling windows, along with stones and fabrics authentic to Brazil.
Dining options at the hotel consists of three signature restaurants;
Tano Cucina Italiana
is a modern Italian trattoria with an ever-changing menu incorporating seasonal ingredients; the intimate
Shiso
Japanese restaurant serves a contemporary sushi, sashimi and yakitori dinner menu; and
Cantô Gastrô & Lounge
offers a “casual and creative” take on local cuisine, while in the evening it becomes a lounge with bossa nova music and an extensive Caipirinha cocktail selection.
The Grand Lounge offers a private reception space for Grand Club floor guests, with ocean and lagoon views, while The Grand Club provides guests with all day tea and coffee, complimentary breakfast and evening cocktails. Other features include a 24-hour fitness centre - which offers yoga and Brazilian dance classes - and the
Atiaia Spa, with
a relaxation lounge, private changing rooms, steam rooms and outdoor pool.
The Grand Hyatt Rio de Janeiro also has over 21,530 square feet of event facilities, including an integrated conference and events centre with two multi-purpose ballrooms, nine meeting rooms, and two exclusive loft kitchen areas. Grand Hyatt Rio de Janeiro also offers beach activities, including paddle-boarding, sailing, kayaking and other water sports, while the Gil Hanse-designed Olympic Golf Course is a 10-minute ferry ride across the lagoon.
