Hotel Indigo York up for another award

The Hotel Indigo York - which has recently been named ‘Luxury Boutique Hotel of the Year’ for North Yorkshire at the Luxury Travel Guide Awards - has now been shortlisted for Best Hotel at the Visit York Tourism Awards 2016.

IHG’s boutique Hotel Indigo is located within the city’s walls in York’s historic Walmgate area - an area famous for being the home of iconic sweet companies Rowntree and Terry’s - and is now becoming increasingly trendy with many new bars and restaurants opening.

Guest room - Hotel Indigo York As well its convenient location, the unique hotel offers 101 rooms, a restaurant and bar, fitness suite, and offers tours and chocolate-making workshops at the nearby York’s Chocolate Story. Commenting on the achievement, Mike Sweeting, general manager of the Hotel Indigo York said: “We are thrilled to have been shortlisted for Best Hotel. It is amazing what can be achieved in just short of a year when the whole team comes together. Congratulations to everyone for all their hard work and dedication in making this hotel a success.”

Bar and lounge The Hotel Indigo York is one of 50 businesses from in and around York to have been shortlisted for the city’s annual awards celebrating its tourism sector. The Visit York awards recognise the best in tourism in the city and beyond. The winners will be announced at the award ceremony which will be hosted at the National Railway Museum at the end of May.
