A ceremony was today held to mark the official opening of Hong Kong International Airport’s new Midfield Concourse, marking another milestone in the ongoing development of the airport.
Located to the west of Terminal 1 between the airport’s two existing runways, the 105,000-square-metre, five-storey concourse provides 20 aircraft parking places while increasing the ratio of passengers boarding and disembarking aircraft using airbridges. Passengers can reach the new concourse by an extension of the Automated People Mover system from Terminal 1.
