Hilton will open its first Garden Inn hotel in the Romanian capital of Bucharest in 2017.
The 201-room hotel Hilton Garden Inn Bucharest Old Town will be located within a listed building on Doamnei St in the city centre. It will offer guests a contemporary restaurant, cooked to order breakfast, 24 gym and a prime location close to many of Bucharest's top attractions within walking distance. Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, EMEA, Hilton Worldwide said: "Hilton Garden Inn Bucharest Old Town provides an incredible opportunity to sensitively preserve the façade of an historic city centre building, whilst incorporating a quality contemporary hotel within - a strategy which we are deploying to great success in European cities including Moscow, Paris, London and Szczecin." Greenleaf went on to comment on the brand’s recent growth across Europe, Middle East and Africa, with new properties opening in Milan, Malaga, Istanbul, and Dubai opening in the past 12 months, and “many more currently under construction.” Romania is already home to five Hilton hotels, with two already in Bucharest: Athenee Palace Hilton Bucharest and the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Bucharest - Unirii Square.
