First look at Playa Largo Resort & Spa in the Florida Keys

Playa Largo Resort & Spa has opened its door to become the first resort to be built in Florida’s Upper Keys for more than 21 years. It also marks Marriott’s 100th addition to its Autograph Collection brand.

“Playa Largo was conceived from a desire to offer visitors to Key Largo a luxurious and modern full-service resort option – something that until now wasn’t available here,” said Shakir Hussain, general manager. “We are redefining what it means to travel to the Florida Keys and are thrilled to be welcoming our first guests this week and our first groups soon after.”

The upscale resort is situated on the innately beautiful Key Largo,

adding an element of luxury to the northernmost island of the Florida Keys.

Sitting on more than 14 waterfront acres, the resort offers 144 “elegant yet breezy” rooms, ten secluded bungalows and a three-bedroom beach house with private plunge pool.

Playa Largo Resort & Spa also features an expansive waterfront pool, 745 feet of sandy beach, fitness centre, two tennis courts, basketball court, watersport rentals and a private marina.

Guests can can choose from three gourmet onsite restaurants, including La Marea, a traditional steakhouse; Las Olas, a ceviche and sushi bar; and Sol by the Sea, with waterfront views and local fresh-caught seafood.

A full-service spa and kids camp are also available.

When it comes to event space, Playa Largo Resort & Spa house a 6,000 square foot ballroom, ideal for corporate events, banquets and weddings.
