British Airways have released the first images of its new ‘First Wing’ at London Heathrow’s Terminal 5, set to open in April next year.
Located next to BA’s first class check-in area, the wing will provide a dedicated walkway from check-in to the lounges for the airline’s First and Gold Executive Club customers travelling from Heathrow.

The wing is designed to make passing through the airport quicker and easier by creating a private check-in area where premium customers will be guided to two new dedicated security lanes. In a press release, British Airways said the new dedicated security lanes will also reduce the number of customers using the current North and South security, speeding up the journey for all customers, especially those travelling in Club World, through Terminal 5.
Following security control, customers will be able to access to British Airways’ Galleries First lounge and the airline’s flagship Concorde Room, where they can wait for their flight.

Troy Warfield, British Airways’ director of customer experience, said he was delighted with The First Wing and is sure it will significantly improve the airport experience for premium customers.
Heathrow’s Terminal 5 is not renowned for an exceptional security process, so hopefully the introduction of British Airways’ First Wing will improve the experience for everyone, not just premium customers.
