After undergoing an extensive £1 million renovation and

reopening in July

, The Talbot, located in Ripley, Surrey, is getting ready to offer its guests a feast “Fit for a Queen” next month.

The feast will be cooked by award-winning Two Star Michelin Chef Martin Blunos, who cooked for Elizabeth II on her Golden Jubilee in 2002. The menu will be served for lunch on October 19th, priced at £29 per person, and dinner on October 21st, priced at £60 per person (which includes canapés on arrival, as well as champagne and additional dessert courses.) Chef Blunos said his mission at The Talbot is to serve an outstanding and versatile range of dishes, featuring creative twists on beloved classics and locally sourced produce. He also stated that preparing a meal for Her Majesty was a particular highlight of his career, and that he’s thrilled to recreate it at The Talbot.

The 43-room hotel is a 30 minute drive from Central London, in the heart of Ripley in the picturesque Surrey countryside. The old coaching inn is reported to be the setting where the love affair of Lord Nelson and Lady Hamilton blossomed in 1798. Its recent renovation has seen upgrades across the restaurant and bar spaces, the events and wedding facilities, and bedrooms.

The revitalisation has also seen Blunos, alongside Head Chef Paul Turner, put together an appetising new menu, featuring imaginative modern British a la carte dishes, traditional classics and seafood specialities. For those with a sweet tooth, they also offer an array of mouth-watering puddings. There is a number of areas in which guests can dine, from the cosy bar with its 15th Century beams and open log fires to the restaurant with stunning copper ceiling and glass wall overlooking the Summer terrace and garden.
