Emirates named the world's best airline 2016
Emirates was last month acknowledged as the world's best airline at the prestigious Skytrax World Airline Awards 2016.
Based on the results of the largest airline passenger satisfaction survey in the industry, the World’s Best Airline Awards are considered a global benchmark of airline excellence. This year’s Skytrax awards were based on a total of 19.2 million completed surveys covering 280 airlines, by customers hailing from more than 104 countries.
It is the fourth time that Emirates has won the accolade since it was created 15 years ago; first winning in 2001, and again in 2002 and 2013. In total, Emirates has received 20 awards at the Skytrax World Airline Awards since 2001, according to a press release.

Emirates also scooped up the awards for World’s Best Inflight Entertainment for a record 12th consecutive year, and Best Airline in the Middle East.
Qatar Airways was second in the global ranking , as well as being named the World's Best Business Class, the World's Best Business Class lounge and Best Airline Staff in the Middle East. Third placed was Singapore Airlines, which also won Best Airline in Asia, and Best Business Class Airline Seat.
