Due to demand, Emirates is to upgrade its Dubai to Auckland service - currently the world's longest flight - by introducing its flagship A380 on the route.

The Dubai airline will deploy a double-decker A380 on its daily non-stop service between the Emirates and New Zealand's largest city from October 30, less than five months after launching the service with a Boeing 777-200LR. Flight EK448, which was launched in March, will depart Dubai at 10:05 and arrive in Auckland the following day at 11:10. In the opposite direction, flight EK449 will depart Auckland each night at 21:15, arriving in Dubai the following morning at 5:35. The airline also flies three daily A380s from Auckland to Dubai and beyond via Australia, and a daily Boeing 777-300ER from Christchurch.
