Hilton has opened a uniquely designed DoubleTree-branded hotel in the historic city of Suzhou in China.
The 357-room and 181-suite DoubleTree by Hilton Suzhou marks the first DoubleTree by Hilton property in Suzhou, one of China's busiest cities. The building’s eye-catching architecture was designed by Hiroshi Miyakawa, who also was also responsible for Osaka’s Kansai International Airport.
"The DoubleTree by Hilton brand has inspired a strong following among travelers the world over. We are pleased to extend our presence in China to Suzhou City and look forward to giving DoubleTree by Hilton Suzhou guests our warm chocolate chip cookie welcome," said Dianna Vaughan, senior vice president and global head, DoubleTree by Hilton and Curio - A Collection by Hilton.
The hotel, which caters to business and leisure travellers alike, is located in the Central Business District of the China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park, where more than 200 financial institutions, banks and companies have their regional headquarters. It is also in close proximity to historical sites such as the Humble Administrator's Garden.
Guests at DoubleTree by Hilton Suzhou can enjoy three on-site restaurants - including all-day dining bistro, OPEN, and Chinese restaurant, YUXI - a bar, lobby lounge, spa, indoor pool, 24-hour gym and business centres, as well as extensive meeting space, including a 1,000m² ballroom.
“The opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Suzhou is a great addition that reinforces Hilton Worldwide’s presence in the strategically important economic hub of eastern China,” said Bruce McKenzie, Hilton’s senior vice president of operations for Greater China & Mongolia. “It strengthens our operating portfolio in the country, which now includes 71 hotels, and continues to grow thanks to a robust pipeline of over 200 hotels.”
