It doesn't get much better than relaxing under the stars in a serene, intimate and spellbindingly beautiful island resort, whilst watching your favourite film with a loved one. That is what the charming Mirihi Island Resort in the Maldives is now offering its guests every Friday evening.
Mirihi is a bare-foot, luxury boutique hotel located in the South Ari Atoll, a 30 minute seaplane from Male, Maldives. A private island fringed with white sand beaches and crystalline waters, Mirihi Island has just 37 villas, as well as a restaurant and bar area - all with sand floors, of course.
From now on, every Friday evening, a projector will be set up in the sand to show guests a popular film, accompanied by fitting drinks and canapés, for example, pastries for The Grand Budapest Hotel; martinis for James Bond; chocolates for Chocolat; and milkshakes for Pulp Fiction.
The evening is designed to suit varied tastes, with films ranging from The Godfather to Notting Hill. The setting is idyllic, with comfy bean bags and cushions scattered in the sand, while the water laps against the shore and the Milky Way shines overhead.
In fact, the night sky in the Maldives is so bright that on clear nights guests can spend time planet-gazing through Mirihi’s high-strength telescope, clearly observing celestial bodies such as Saturn and the Moons of Jupiter.
There is also plenty to do during daylight hours, with diving and whale shark watching available, as well as an on-site spa and fitness centre.
A true gem of a resort, Mirihi Island offers an abundance of natural beauty and understated luxury, all in within a very intimate setting - the entire island is just 350 metres long and 50 metres wide. Find and book the best rates for your stay at the Mirihi Island Resort
