Say G'day To Australia's Coolest New Hotel - The W Brisbane

by BusinessClass

Australia’s coolest new hotel has opened in Brisbane. The

W Brisbane

overlooks the city’s namesake river and features a design that references Australia’s indigenous roots and colonial heritage.

Striking a balance between urban style and modern design - with a cheeky, distinctively Aussie angle through a design from Australian design Nic Graham & Associates - the hotel houses 312 rooms, including 32 luxe suites.

Guests are welcomed upon entering the hotel by a staircase crafted from timber river reeds in the lobby/living room. Artwork from a slew of Australian artists further punctuates the interior along with intricate rugs and greenery-inspired details.

Benchtops and bar faces are upgraded with forms that recall curvilinear shapes and nearby waterworn clifftops. All rooms and suites are designed with a white wall inspired by VJ wall panels typical of Queenslander homes, while the Extreme Wow suite on the 33rd floor boasts an impressive backdrop of panoramic views.

The hotel features three dining venues, including the vibrant but casual Three Blue Ducks; the daytime lounge and evening cocktail bar the Living Room; and the signature Wet Deck rooftop bar.

There is also more than 11,800 square feet of event space, including the 6,400-square-foot Great Room.
