Air France will equip its Airbus A330 with new cabins from the end of 2017. The cabins have been developed in partnership with Zodiac Aerospace and are currently found on board 31 of Air France’s Boeing 777 aircraft.
By the end of 2018, the entire fleet of A330-200 will be equipped with the new cabin, for a total investment of 140 million euros. Air Fance’s Airbus A330s will then offer 30 seats in Business class, 21 in Premium Economy and 175 in Economy. "Since the first flight equipped with the Best cabins to New York in June 2014, they have been highly acclaimed by our customers. If Air France is back among the best global airlines, this is partly thanks to our very high quality products and services. Equipping our Airbus A330 fleet with these cabins is the next logical step in the move upmarket of Air France's products and services", said Frédéric Gagey, Chairman and CEO of Air France.
Air France said its Business Class seats offer a “cocoon in the sky” that adapts to the shape of each individual, reclining into a 2-metre long bed. Premium Economy seats recline to 130°, while Economy seat offers more legroom, a new seat cushion, more comfortable headrests and a wider tray table. Each cabin also utilises new touch screen technology developed by Zodiac, RAVE, allowing customers to access Air France’s entertainment options via the tablet-style touch screen.
