A Look At Singita Serengeti’s Lavish Upgrade
Offering off-the-grid luxury with uninterrupted views over the Serengeti, one of Africa’s most stunning
houses has just unveiled the results of an extensive redesign.
Singita Serengeti House, set along the slopes of Tanzania’s Sasakwa Hill in the heart of a private game reserve, is now more stylish and sophisticated than ever. After teaming up with experienced Singita collaborators, Cécile & Boyd, the house sets itself apart from other upscale East African lodges with a luxuriously comfortable yet refined, modern design.
Singita Serengeti House, which is a driving force behind the preservation and protection of large areas of the reserve, features new, casual living spaces including an eat-in kitchen and media room, a full gym adjacent to the extended outdoor sala, and a brand new tented spa suite at the updated tennis pavilion.
A 25-metre lap pool, outdoor dining decks and fire pits provide the perfect spots from which to view activity at the nearby waterhole. While private staff, including a full-time guide and dedicated vehicle, offer flexible itineraries with tailor-made activities and meals.
Filled with natural light, there are four boldly proportioned guest suites with serene bathrooms, outdoor showers and private terraces. One of the suites in the main house has been extended to include twin bathrooms and dressing rooms.
Throughout the house, a calming neutral palette of sun-bleached blonde, beige and grey bring the grassy plains indoors. Natural fibres, such as grass jute matting, pale beige polished cement floors, local stone and raw timber, add extreme textures to the boldly African look, together with authentic, handcrafted artefacts and artist John Banovich’s fine-art wildlife paintings.
