United Airlines has officially completed the comprehensive upgrade of its Polaris Business Class seating across the Boeing 767-400ER fleet, ensuring every wide-body jet serving international routes now features United’s signature premium cabin.

Initially launched in 2016, the Polaris Business Class experience quickly earned accolades for its direct aisle access, enhanced culinary offerings, and premium bedding. As of mid-2023, all 16 Boeing 767-400 aircraft have been retrofitted with the latest Polaris seats, marking the culmination of United’s multi-year cabin transformation initiative. These upgraded aircraft have been flying key transatlantic and long-haul routes, bringing consistency and elevated comfort to discerning travelers.

Beyond the new Business Class seating, passengers now benefit from refreshed lavatories, advanced LED mood lighting, next-generation Panasonic seatback entertainment, and universal AC plus USB charging at every seat throughout the cabin.

The refreshed 767-400ER layout features a net reduction of nine seats, optimizing space for greater passenger comfort. Business Class now offers 34 fully lie-flat Polaris suites arranged in a 1-1-1 configuration, each providing a generous 77-inch (196 cm) pitch and a seat width ranging between 20 and 22 inches (50–56 cm). The retrofit also introduces 24 Premium Plus seats—United’s premium economy product—making its debut on this aircraft type.
