United Airlines has enhanced its premium onboard experience by introducing Whispering Angel rosé to the Polaris Business Class wine list. The global appetite for rosé has soared in the last decade, and United’s partnership with Château d’Esclans brings one of Provence’s most celebrated wines to travelers at 35,000 feet.
While Whispering Angel may not rival the rare vintages occasionally found in ultra-premium airline cabins, its international acclaim and celebrity following—including endorsement by Adele—make it a sought-after pour for discerning passengers.
According to Sacha Lichine, owner of Château d’Esclans, “Whispering Angel has set the benchmark for contemporary rosé, embodying sophistication and joie de vivre. We are thrilled to collaborate with United Polaris to offer guests a taste of Provence’s elegance as they journey around the world.”
Historically, United’s wine program has not been its strongest differentiator, though Polaris does feature respected Champagnes such as Duval Leroy and Beaumont des Crayere. Each month, nearly 500,000 glasses of wine are enjoyed by Polaris customers, reflecting the airline’s commitment to continual improvement in its inflight offerings.
In addition to upgrading its wine selection, United has recently reintroduced its iconic ice cream sundae cart, delighting travelers with a nostalgic treat during long-haul journeys.
