In what it calls “A Celebration of Champagne”, Singapore Airlines has announced five premium vintages will be served - for a limited time - to its First Class passengers.
Each of the five marques will appear for a two-month period before being replaced with the next fantastic wine.
These Champagnes are special as they are single vineyard grapes - artisanal wine. The Grower Champagne is bottled by a single producer making it “pure”.
Singapore Airlines First Class passengers are currently being offered the Vilmart Grand Cellier d’Or 2018, a graceful, ethereal Grower Champagane with notes of menthol, blood orange, Chinese aniseed and ripe black cherries.
To follow:
- 2016 Cuvee Volupte, Blanc de Blancs Vintage by Champagne Geoffroy - in August and September 2023
- 2018, Multi-Vintage (MV) by Champagne Henri Giraud - in October and November 2023
- Blanc des Millenaires by Charles Heidsieck - in December 2023 and January 2024
- Extra Brut ‘VP’ Grand Cru by Champagne Egly-Ouriet - in February and March 2024
The airline usually only sets aside a dozen bottles of Champagne in First Class (four for each marque on offer) so if you want to quaff one the “Celebration Champagnes”, ask for it as soon you board! The airline's other First Class Champagnes are Krug Grande Cuvée or 2008-vintage Taittinger Comtes de Champagne.
While Champagne can be enjoyed at any of time of day and with any cuisine, it pairs particularly well with caviar. And as it happens, Singapore Airlines boasts a legendary caviar service in First Class!
