Riyadh Air unveils livery & confirms no First Class

The new livery for Riyadh Air's Boeing 787-9 fleet has been unveiled! Appearing on the airline's social media channels, the main colours are purple & blue with white writing.

The Saudi Arabian start-up - fully owned by the kingdom's sovereign wealth fund - is set to start operations in 2025.

In March, Riyadh Air announced it had the procured 72 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft in a multi-billion-dollar deal, with 39 confirmed aircraft and the option for 33 more.

Former CEO of Etihad Airways, Tony Douglas, now leads Riyadh Air. He has emphasised the airline's dual role as a global connector and a conduit for driving tourism and business travel to Saudi Arabia, saying that the newly purchased 787-9 aircraft will form the cornerstone of their global operations.

Riyadh Air has assured customers that the 787-9 aircraft will be equipped with state-of-the-art digital in-flight entertainment systems and connectivity solutions. The airline will run its operations from Saudi Arabia's capital, Riyadh.

Meanwhile, the airline's CEO - Tony Douglas - who once ran Etihad - has confirmed that the airline will not fly a First Class cabin but its Business Class will compete with the likes of the Qsuite on Qatar Airways.
