Qatar Airways Group CEO, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer has announced plans for new First Class cabins on some of Qatar Airways’ fleet and revealed that a new design of Qatar Airways’ flagship Qsuite product is set to debut in July.
These strategic moves are aimed at revitalising the global airline and its associated businesses, with innovation standing as the cornerstone.
In an exclusive interview with CNBC, his first since assuming the role of Qatar Airways Group CEO in November 2023, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer remarked, "We are entering a new era."
During the interview, Engr. Al-Meer elaborated on the optimistic prospects for the Group, outlining his strategy for developing a lucrative concept for Qatar Airways' new First Class cabin.
Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer explained, "In response to demand from specific sectors, we have observed a significant interest in First Class. Therefore, we have made the decision to unveil a newly-designed First Class cabin, distinctively tailored for Qatar Airways. Leveraging our expertise in both commercial and executive jet aviation, we are poised to introduce a pioneering experience. We are at 70 to 80 percent readiness, with only the finalisation of colour schemes remaining. We anticipate an imminent announcement."
Additionally, Engr. Badr Al-Meer disclosed Qatar Airways' plans to unveil a revamped version of its acclaimed Qsuite, scheduled to debut at the Farnborough International Airshow in July 2024. Since its inception in 2017, the Qsuite Business Class has challenged industry standards and continues to set benchmarks in aviation excellence.
Currently serving over 170 destinations worldwide, Qatar Airways is poised to launch inaugural flights to Hamburg and Tashkent, while reinstating services to Lisbon and Venice. Additionally, the airline will resume several seasonal routes for the summer, including Adana, Antalya, Bodrum, Marrakesh, Mykonos, Sarajevo, and Trabzon.
