Qantas & Western Australia debuts new amenity kits

Qantas and Tourism Western Australia have collaborated with Western Australian Wongi artist Kevin Wilson to display his artwork on a limited series of Qantas amenity kits.

To honour the launch of Western Australia's new global tourism brand, Walking On A Dream, Kevin Wilson's artwork highlights some of WA's most stunning locations. The artwork incorporates elements of ancient paths, waterways, and wildlife from iconic WA destinations such as Ningaloo Reef, the Margaret River Region, the Kimberley, and Perth.

Business Class passengers on Qantas international flights from Singapore, London, and Rome to Perth will receive these amenity kits. The kits include essential travel items like an eye mask featuring Wilson's design, as well as socks, earplugs, and Lit'ya skincare products.

Markus Svensson, Qantas Group Chief Customer Officer, expressed that the airline's amenity kits offer a distinctive platform to showcase Western Australia's beauty and diversity to worldwide travellers. “We are dedicated to attracting more visitors to Western Australia. The city and its regional areas have a wealth of experiences to offer, and we are proud to highlight its natural beauty and culture through a skilled artist,” Svensson said.

He also noted that, along with inflight pajamas, amenity kits are a significant aspect of the Qantas international Business experience. Many customers repurpose the kits as wallets or storage for makeup and keys, so Qantas is delighted to offer a special piece of local Indigenous artwork for passengers to take home.

Qantas has a longstanding commitment to promoting reconciliation and showcasing the best of Australia to the world. Since 1994, the airline's Flying Art Series has commissioned and exhibited five striking Indigenous Australian liveries on its aircraft.

Qantas currently operates 15 domestic routes within Western Australia and three international routes from Perth to Singapore, London, and Rome. Year-round daily services from London (B787-9 Dreamliner) and Singapore to Perth (Airbus A330) are available, as well as seasonal Dreamliner services between Perth and Rome three times per week from 17 June 2023 until 3 October 2023.

A direct flight from Melbourne to Learmonth will commence on 30 April, making the world heritage-listed Ningaloo Reef even more accessible to visitors from Australia's East Coast.
