oneworld, the global airline alliance, is celebrating its 25th birthday with The Connaught in London by introducing a new cocktail.
Dubbed ‘The 25’, this concoction has made its debut at the Soho Lounge within the American Airlines and British Airways Joint Premium Lounges at John F. Kennedy International Airport, Terminal 8.
Crafted exclusively for oneworld’s 25th anniversary by Ago Perrone, the Director of Mixology at The Connaught Bar in Mayfair, ‘The 25’ cocktail features a nuanced blend of London Dry Gin, Sweet Vermouth, Bitter, Mezcal, and a unique infusion of oneworld and The Connaught Orange Grove essential oil. Reminiscent of a Negroni, it marries a timeless Mediterranean essence with a touch of Mexican flair, resulting in a vibrant and harmonious blend that evokes the spirit of global exploration.
Alongside ‘The 25’, a specially curated mocktail version offers a refreshing fusion of distant inspirations and surprising flavours, comprising non-alcoholic London Dry Gin, Cranberry Juice, Mediterranean Tonic, and the distinctive oneworld and The Connaught Orange Grove essential oil.
Exclusively available to oneworld Emerald and First Class passengers travelling on oneworld member airlines, JFK's Terminal 8 hosts nine oneworld member airlines: American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, Qantas, Qatar Airways, and Royal Jordanian.
Both the cocktail and mocktail will be served in select First Class lounges across the oneworld network worldwide, including the new oneworld branded lounges at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport and Incheon International Airport, Seoul, debuting in May-June 2024.
2024 marks the 25th anniversary of the oneworld alliance, commemorated through these libations and collaborations among member airlines.
oneworld was founded in 1999 and brings together 13 airlines – Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Qantas, Qatar Airways, Royal Air Maroc, Royal Jordanian and SriLankan Airlines, and more than 20 of their affiliates. Fiji Airways is a oneworld connect partner. Oman Air is set to join the alliance as the 14th member airline later this year.
