United Airlines has opened its new Club Lounge at Terminal One at Chicago O'Hare Airport.
United Polaris, international Business Class, and premium transcontinental Business Class passengers can use the new Lounge - albeit without any guests. This is also the case for Business Class on other Star Alliance carriers. Only First Class passengers are allowed a guest. Star Alliance Gold members can enter the lounge if they are flying that day.
The new 1,600 square metre Lounge is double the size of its predecessor and can seat 400 passengers in comfort. Visitors can pop themselves on couches, recliners and chairs - opting to work, rest, eat or play!
Facilities in the new Lounge include complimentray high-speed Wi-Fi, self-scan entry e-gates and an enhanced wellness space for “for nursing parents or travellers looking to meditate or pray”. A tech advance is United's use of “Agent on Demand” kiosks - which allows passengers to chat, text or call the airline's customer services. Also eGates ensure smooth entry in & out of the Lounge.
One stand-out feature of the Lounge is its connection to Chicago. First up is a statement mural by local artist Kate Lewis. Also, the décor is distinctly Chicagoan - with area sourced furniture and handcrafted artwork.
The new United Club Lounge in Chicago is located on Terminal 1's C concourse.
