Lufthansa unveils suites for First and Business Class

Lufthansa is rolling out the largest investment of premium products in the airline’s history with the introduction of all-new long-haul First Class Suites to debut on ten Airbus A350s in late summer 2023, along with oversized Business Plus Suites.

The German flag carrier describes the new premium products as the ‘Allegris’ range – developed exclusively for Lufthansa – which also includes a refined evolution of the original Boeing 777-9 Business Class product. The first ten A350s will be based in Munich.

High walls surround the private First Class Suites with almost metre-wide seating that can be converted into a large, comfortable bed. Passengers face an ottoman, doubling as a companion seat, with enough room to dine together on the Suite’s large dining table.

A wide HD IFE screen extends above the width of the ottoman, complete with wireless Bluetooth audio headphones. The Suites also come with a practical personal wardrobe.

Meanwhile, the Business Class product will see a step up from the original 777-9 model with the introduction of an alternating configuration of 1-2-1 rows and 1-1-1 rows containing a central throne seat providing more desk space.

Lufthansa state the seats will offer more privacy thanks to higher walls and provide customers with generous shoulder space. They will convert to fully-flat beds with a sleeping area of 2.2 metres, while the throne seats will have a slightly reduced sleeping space of two metres.

Passengers will also enjoy plenty of working space, wireless charging and noise-cancelling headphones. A multi-use tablet controls seating positions, ventilation and lighting, and the 17-inch Bluetooth IFE monitor feeds wireless audio to the passenger’s wireless headphones and added laptop, tablet and smartphone connectivity.

The front row of the Business class cabin will feature an oversized Business Plus Suite – similar to Virgin Atlantic’s ‘Retreat Suite’ – providing even more space, high sliding privacy doors, a large 27-inch IFE screen, ample storage space and a personal wardrobe.
